Rasmus Kristensen scored his first goal for Roma on Sunday as the Leeds United man came off the bench to score the winner in a 2-1 away win over Sassuolo – but it came via a massive deflection.
Kristensen, 26, is one of eight players to leave Elland Road on loan using the relegation loan clause. The likes of Max Wober, Robin Koch, Diego Llorente and plenty of others have used the clause to go on loan.
The Dane has struggled. Just 13 outings, only six starts. He was even left out of Roma’s Europa League squad at the start of the term – with Zeki Celik and Rick Karsdorp preferred out wide by Jose Mourinho.
But he enjoyed his best moment in a Roma shirt on Sunday evening, even if it was thanks to a huge slice of luck. Roma were struggling to overcome Sassuolo, who had taken a 1-0 lead in the first half last night.
A Sassuolo red card and Paulo Dybala scoring from the spot had given Roma the impetus. But inside the last 10 minutes, Roma were struggling to find the winner. Kristensen had come on at half-time, for Roma.

Towards the end of the game, the Dane cut inside and slammed a left-footed shot towards goal from the edge of the area. The shot was tame, but it looped into the air off of a Sassuolo defender, into the net.
Of course, Kristensen is no stranger to a deflected goal. Two of his three Leeds goals, against Arsenal and Newcastle, were via a touch from an opponent. Maybe this is the kickstart he needed at Roma.
