Manchester City have posted a behind-the-scenes video on Twitter of Saturday’s 2-1 loss to the Premier League champions and Leeds United captain Liam Cooper is seen sharing an embrace with Kalvin Phillips in the tunnel.

In what was Sam Allardyce’s first game, Leeds put up a decent fight and while it was always going to end in a Manchester City win – Leeds fought a whole lot harder than us as fans have seen over the past few weeks at City.

Ilkay Gundogan got a brace as Phillips remained an unused substitute on Saturday, while Rodrigo pulled one back late on. Indeed, Phillips has been linked with the exit door – The Star say Liverpool are eyeing a £35m transfer.

Manchester City posted a video on Twitter that shared footage from inside the tunnel and behind the scenes. It included Sam Allardyce walking out to the dugout for the first time as Leeds boss – and Cooper hugging Phillips.

It has been a hard season for Phillips. While City are on course to go on and win the treble, Phillips has had to go from being a regular at Leeds to being back-up at City. He has managed 17 outings in all competitions, two starts.

Indeed, he has managed little over 400 minutes. Come the summer, Phillips will be linked with a move away from the club. Liverpool are linked, but you would expect most top-half or mid-table Premier League sides to be interested.

A return to Leeds looks unlikely, and any hope would be over if we do go down. Which, as things stand, look more than likely. Three big games left, that will determine how Leeds act in the market – Newcastle, West Ham, Spurs.
