Leeds United were linked with a move for Blackburn Rovers star Adam Wharton in the summer and just a few months on, it seems the best clubs in the Premier League now want to land the midfielder.

A report from 90Min claims that Wharton is attracting interest from the likes of Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle, Brighton and Everton. The 19-year-old is starring in a Blackburn shirt.

Having broken into Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side last term, Wharton has been first choice this time around. He was part of the England Elite Squad in November that also included Archie Gray and Mateo Joseph.

Back in the summer, FLW said that Leeds were looking into a deal for Wharton. However, a move for the Blackburn talent was based on whether we could avoid the drop and of course, Leeds were relegated.

Wharton – who is “Champions League level” according to his manager – signed a contract at Ewood Park until the summer of 2027 last season. But that has not stopped big clubs becoming interested.

Tottenham and Liverpool eye Adam Wharton after Leeds interest

Now, Leeds are set to be blown out of the water even if any remaining interest stood, with the best clubs in England eyeing a move. Spurs have a good relationship with Blackburn, after signing Ashley Phillips.

It is unclear whether Blackburn are open to a sale and the chances of them cashing in in January seems unlikely. But, a move at the end of the season could materialise. We’d need promotion to have a chance.

Of course, the Whites have numerous options in the middle, too. Ilia Gruev, Archie Gray, Glen Kamara and Ethan Ampadu. It is hardly a position where Daniel Farke needs to strengthen at the moment.
