So, we have reached the first international break and after a turbulent summer of ins and outs at Leeds United, Daniel Farke’s men have six points – and here are our best five players so far, as per WhoScored.
It has been tumultuous. Fractious. Worrying. But Leeds are now the other side of the deadline and most areas that required strengthening, have been strengthened. Only left-back and no.10 needing additions.
Millwall await on the other side of the break, on September 17. At this stage then, here are our best five players according to WhoScored ratings – and there are a couple of perhaps, surprising inclusions.
Leeds United’s best five Championship players so far:
5. Dan James (6.89, 91st best in the Championship)
The Wales winger comes in in fifth place, and 91st in terms of all Championship players. The £25m man has one Man of the Match display – the West Brom draw, crossing for Luke Ayling who scored a header.
4. Ethan Ampadu (6.93, 75th)

Many people’s best so far, the Wales star has been impeccable. Already a bargain, at £7m. WhoScored say Ampadu has done 12 tackles, four interceptions and 240 successful passes from an attempted 280.
3. Luke Ayling (7.04, 54th)
The right-back has surprised many. Not only has he scored against West Brom with a superb header, and got an assist at Ipswich – but he has captained us in four games. Constantly underrated. Crucial.
2. Georginio Rutter (7.12, 35th)
This one may come as a bit of a surprise, given he has one goal – the stunner at Ipswich. But, Rutter has produced five key passes, six successful dribbles and got man of the match against Ipswich. Improving.

1. Willy Gnonto (7.34, 10th)
Gnonto is in the top 10 of all Championship players this season. One goal, at Ipswich – but only in three games. 12 successful dribbles, four tackles, Gnonto is impressing. Few more goals and assists, please.
