Tony Dorigo has written in his latest column on his own website that Leeds United star Max Wober has become a “new leader” at Elland Road since he joined the club in January – praising the Austrian for his “really solid” form.
Wober, 24, has excelled since joining Leeds. With Diego Llorente going to Roma on loan, Liam Cooper’s injury issues hampering his momentum, and Pascal Struijk’s form being up and down, Wober was needed. He has started well.
Of course, the defender has now picked up an injury and that makes him a doubt for Saturday’s trip to Arsenal. But in the short time he has been at Leeds, while on the pitch, Leeds have only conceded 11 goals in his 13 outings.
On Wober, Dorigo was full of praise. The Leeds-supporting pundit believes that he has become a new leader at the club, praising his recent form. A player that is also getting the best out of his centre-back partner Robin Koch.
“Max Wober was only signed in January, but he’s looked really solid at the back and proven to be another character and leader for us out on the pitch,” ex-Leeds man Dorigo wrote in his latest column, ahead of the clash at Arsenal.

Wober was Salzburg’s captain before joining Leeds. So, it was always going to make sense that Wober would come in and if given the role and platform, he would be a leader. He has done just that. Wober has tidied up the defence.
Of course, having Javi Gracia at the helm, helps. The Spaniard has made Leeds more defensive, more in control of their matches. But Wober’s quality in defence, his tenacity, his ability on the ball, has helped Leeds no-end.
