Tony Dorigo has reacted on Twitter on Tuesday morning after it was confirmed that The 49ers Enterprises had at last, completed the takeover of Leeds United from Andrea Radrizzani β the EFL ratifying a switch of ownership.
Radrizzani, despite his takeover of Sampdoria in Italy, has technically remained the major shareholder until Monday. It meant that Leeds had to go to Radrizzani in order to confirm Daniel Farke, before announcing the German boss.
But now, no more. Leeds have finally waved goodbye. In come the 49ers Enterprises, comprising of Paraag Marathe as chairman, Rudy Cline-Thomas as vice president and a number of sporting stars are included in the Leeds move.
The most-decorated Olympian of all-time, in Michael Phelps, is one of those. As is golfing superstar Jordan Spieth, and a whole host of NBA stars including New Orleans Pelicans ace Larry Nance Jr β who is very active on Twitter.
Ex-Leeds and England defender Dorigo, who works as a co-commentator for LUTV alongside Bryn Law, reacted on Twitter to the news that Radrizzani has gone β thanking the Italian. He also spoke about the 49ers now coming in.
Dorigo reacts as 49ers complete takeover of Leeds from Radrizzani
Dorigo has hit the nail on the head. The start of a new era, and hopefully a different approach when it comes to getting Leeds into the Premier League β and then keeping them there. Radrizzani got the first bit right in his era.
But the second part, failed. Victor Orta can be to blame for that, recruitment was not good enough and ultimately it was the killer for Leeds. Now, Leeds and The 49ers must learn from previous errors and get it right during their time.
