Fulham manager Marco Silva has told Friday’s pre-match press conference that Leeds United are “fighting for something” and expects a tough test against the Whites – praising our attacking options that can create problems.

Silva has guided Fulham to a place of safety in his side’s first season back in the Premier League, and they look as though they are going to see out the rest of the campaign above the chunk of clubs embroiled in a relegation fight.

It will be a tough test for Leeds. Fulham are without Aleksandar Mitrovic who remains suspended, while Dan James is barred from playing due to being on loan. So, it looks as if it could be a good time to play against the Cottagers.

But, Leeds come in to the game likely low on confidence after 5-1 and 6-1 defeats – while Fulham have turned a corner after a tricky bout of form, beating Everton 3-1 away from home last time. Silva gave his verdict on Leeds.

“I know they are not in the best position, [but] they are fighting for something. Bournemouth was the same, West Ham was the same, and Everton. We don’t look for their last two games, that would be the first mistake,” Silva said.

“We know they can be really tough to play against if at their best, that is clear for me, they are always a threat in the attack line. There are very good players in that attack line, players with a lot of skill that can create problems to you.”

Leeds need a reaction. A trip to London would not have been at the top of the list of choices if Javi Gracia had been given a list of fixtures he could pick from. But, Fulham are lacking their best player, and are almost in holiday mode.

They are too far away from Europe, but well above a relegation scrap. Mid-table obscurity gives Leeds the chance to capitalise. However, if Leeds go one-nil down, you would expect any concerns about confidence to really kick in.
