Leeds United loanee Max Wober is continuing to impress the German media during his loan spell at Borussia Monchengladbach.
Wober was handed a grade two (the lower the better) by Gladbach Live following their frustrating 2-2 draw against Mainz on Friday, with the 25-year-old described as the ‘most striking defensive player’.
Despite only joining Leeds in January, the Austria international was one of eight members of last season’s first team squad to leave on loan after the club’s relegation.
Each of the players have had varying degrees of success so far but based on their individual performances, Wober is among the best of them, alongside Marc Roca.
Gladbach have struggled so far this season with just one win from their opening seven Bundesliga matches, but Wober appears to have been one of their most stand-out performers.

Gladbach will have been expecting to beat a winless Mainz on Friday night but were only saved from defeat by a late Joseph Scally equaliser.
Despite conceding twice against a side who had only scored four goals in their six matches before yesterday’s game, Wober has been praised for his performance.
They wrote: “Again the most striking defensive player in the Fohlenelf. The Austrian repeatedly supported Netz on the left side and kept his back free defensively. Grade: 2.”
Though no official option-to-buy was included in the initial loan deal, if Wober continues to perform at this level, it would be no surprise if they bought him permanently, which would suit all parties.
There is no way back for Wober at Elland Road and while some supporters may want to see him fail, it would be better for Leeds if he performs well so they can offload him for a fee above what they paid Red Bull Salzburg in January.
