Swansea City star Joe Allen says Leeds United have a player that is making ‘incredible progress’ at Elland Road

Daniel Farke is renowned for his man-management and ability to get the best out of young players and since arriving at Leeds United, he has certainly helped many do just that.

Last season, Crysencio Summerville, Georginio Rutter, Ethan Ampadu and Archie Gray all enjoyed the best seasons of their careers. Farke seems to be getting the best out of the players at his disposal at Leeds.

This term, it is the same. Illan Meslier already has nine Championship clean sheets, Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk are starring in front of him, Junior Firpo is in the best form of his Leeds spell since joining in 2021.

Ao Tanaka, Joe Rothwell, Brenden Aaronson and Largie Ramazani are also players you would consider in-form at the moment and that is largely down to Farke. But one player has caught the eye of Joe Allen.

Swansea star Joe Allen heaps praise on Leeds player Joe Rodon

Rodon is fit to face Iceland on Tuesday night after a bang to the head, with the Leeds star set to win his 50th cap for Wales. He will be hoping to maintain Craig Bellamy’s unbeaten start to life as Wales manager.

Leeds take on Swansea on the weekend and Allen, who remains contracted to the Welsh side, told BBC Sport that it is “great to see” Rodon’s progress ahead of winning his 50th cap on Tuesday against Iceland.

“Certainly over the last couple of years at club level he’s had the chance to play regularly, the progress from that has been incredible. He’s one of the first names on the team sheet for Wales,” Allen said.

“He’s only ever performed well for us. He’s been pivotal to our big performances and big results, and it’s been great to see,” Swansea star Allen continued, on his Wales teammate Rodon prior to his 50th cap.

Joe Rodon has already played more for Leeds than any other club

Rodon says Wales has helped him through tough moments, and he has had to endure a few. Joining Tottenham at an early age, he managed just 24 appearances during his four years on the books at Spurs.

Rodon is clearly in the best form of his life, playing his best football and the stats prove that. More wins and clean sheets than he has produced at any of his other clubs and indeed for his country, Wales.

For Leeds, Farke will be hoping he remains fit and can play every single minute of the Championship season. If he does, Leeds have every chance of achieving automatic promotion back to the top tier.
