Steven Gerrard has already brought a number of big names to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq since becoming the club’s gaffer – and now, he wants a reunion with a player recently linked with Leeds.
Jordan Henderson is obviously the biggest name in Al-Ettifaq’s side, with Gerrard managing to tempt the midfielder to swap Liverpool’s captaincy for the riches of Saudi Arabia. Gini Wijnaldum, as well.
Other high-profile players at Al-Ettifaq include Jack Hendry, Demarai Gray, Robin Quaison and Marcel Tisserand. But Gerrard is not done there as he looks to guide Ettifaq towards the top of the table.
Ben Jacobs claims on Twitter that after a three-hour meeting on Monday regarding transfers, Ryan Kent has emerged as a key target for Ettifaq this month. He’s currently struggling at Turkish side Fenerbahce.
Of course, he played under Gerrard for three years at Ibrox – the Liverpool legend raiding his old club to bring Kent to Scotland. In the summer, Kent swapped Rangers for Fener – with his contract expiring.

Leeds are among a number of clubs to be linked with Kent this month, as he fails to win a place in the starting line-up and even on some occasions – the match day squad. He’s handed in a transfer request.
Rated at a fee of just £6m and available on loan, or in a permanent switch, Leeds’ interest is only likely to become serious if Willy Gnonto, Cree Summerville or Jaidon Anthony end up being sold in January.
Gerrard and Ettifaq seems a much more likely move for Kent, if he is willing to leave Europe behind at this stage in his career and move to Saudi Arabia. The money on offer will certainly be tempting.
