Leeds United have been linked with a surprise move for Tottenham Hotspur man Ben Davies this month – and his Wales and Spurs teammate Brennan Johnson has heaped praise on him this week.
The 30-year-old defender remains a key player at Spurs, who sit in fifth place in the Premier League table and remain in the hunt for a top-four spot. He has played 16 times in all competitions this term.
But when everyone is fit at Spurs, Davies falls down the pecking order. At centre-back, Micky van de Ven is now fit – and Radu Dragusin has been signed. At left-back, Destiny Udogie is being preferred.
So, Davies will struggle to play with Spurs not in European competition either. With Leeds looking for a left-back, reports emerged that the Whites are admirers of him – even if, it would be very ambitious.
Obviously, the Welsh contingent is growing at leeds and Joe Rodon is renowned to be one of his best friends. Speaking about Davies on Tottenham’s official podcast, another Wales star was full of praise.
Spurs’ £47.5m man Johnson, said: “He can adapt. When Micky got injured, Ben slotted in straight away. He was so solid especially in some tough games. His character, I’ve never seen him have a bad game.”

There is no chance that firstly, Tottenham allow the sale of Davies at the midway stage. In the summer, perhaps, but that also depends on gaining promotion to the Premier League to land the £10m man.
Davies is a Premier League player and while he might be struggling to start at Spurs, he is still easily capable of playing for a mid-table Premier League team. Davies would really be an incredible coup.
