Football Daily have posted a video on their Twitter account from Sky Sports News that shows Leeds United’s squad in training ahead of Sunday’s clash against West Ham – and Jeremiah Mullen is seen in the video with the first team.

Mullen, 18, has enjoyed a wonderful week after scoring a sensational goal in the 21’s play-off Premier League 2 win over Nottingham Forest. A 3-0 victory, in which Mullen scored the second goal, that saw Leeds gain promotion.

Georginio Rutter had scored the opener, before Kris Moore powered a header home to make it three. Mullen and the 21’s will be in the top tier of PL2 next season. Clearly, Mullen’s performance and his goal has caught Big Sam’s eye.

In what was his 16th PL2 outing of the season, Mullen volleyed home a strike that might be the sweetest he will hit in his entire career. Cameras showed pictures of Karl Robinson talking to the squad – and Mullen was seen (40 secs).

It is no more than Mullen deserves. A player Michael Skubala included on the first-team bench during his three-game stint in between Jesse Marsch and Javi Gracia. He was an unused sub in the 2-0 loss to Manchester United.

Mullen has a massive future and Leeds will be hoping he stays put. Especially given his ability to play on any side of the defence, or in the middle. He is clearly, technically gifted given his goal – and two Scotland U-21 appearances.

He is a real gem and while he will not play against Newcastle or Tottenham next week, it might be that he is on the bench as a well done for his performance in front of Allardyce and Robbie Keane last Monday, in the 3-0 win.
