Clinton Morrison told Sky Sports News’ coverage (7.15PM) of Tuesday night’s games in the Champions League and English Football League that Marcelo Bielsa could return to Leeds United – with Jesse Marsch under huge pressure.

Marsch, 48, has failed to return his Leeds side to their early-season form. The Whites picked up seven points from the first three games. Leeds have gone eight games without winning, losing six of eight games in the meantime.

The pressure is mounting on the American. There has been plenty of chat about a replacement of the ex-Leipzig boss. However, the board met on Sunday – according to MailPlusin order to find a way to help Marsch, not sack him.

Discussing Marsch’s position before the majority Tuesday’s games began, Jeff Stelling asked Morrison if Leeds legend Bielsa could return: “You never know, he could go back because the Leeds fans love him. That would be the best story.”

Morrison: Bielsa could return to Leeds with Marsch under pressure

Bielsa remains a Leeds legend having taken a mid-table Championship side, finishing 13th under Paul Heckingbottom, to the play-offs in his first season. Then, promotion, as the second-tier’s runaway Champions. A 16-year wait, ended.

In his first season in the Premier League, Bielsa guided Leeds to a stunning ninth-placed finish. Beating the likes of Manchester City and Tottenham along the way. But things ended badly, with players physically, emotionally drained.

While it would be a fairytale, with Bielsa still out of work since being replaced by Marsch in February, the chances of him returning to the Elland Road dugout seems unlikely. Especially, given the way his tenure came to an end.

But Bielsa does remain without a job. He missed out on a return to Bilbao, with the presidential election at the club not going his way. He has also rejected a move to River Plate, out of loyalty to Newell’s Old Boys, according to TyC.
