Simon Jordan has told TalkSPORT (Friday, 12:20PM) that it would be a “disaster” for Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani if the club are relegated to the Championship – as the Italian mogul plans to sell the club to the 49ers.
Leeds sit in 16th place and after Tuesday’s draw with Leicester, relegation looks like a real possibility. The Whites have a tough run in, starting with a trip to Bournemouth on Sunday – which as things stand, is absolutely must win.
That is because next up is a trip to Manchester City, Newcastle at home, a tricky-looking clash against West Ham in London and then Tottenham at Elland Road on the final day of the season. City is almost without doubt, a defeat.
Newcastle are on fire after big wins over Everton and Spurs. Then, West Ham away – well, they might be focused on Europe by that point, but everyone knows how Leeds struggle in London. Spurs are a top-six side with big players.
Radrizzani and the 49ers have an agreement in place where the 49ers will buy the club. They currently own a 44% stake, to Radrizzani’s majority 56%. Selling a Premier League club will cost more – than a Championship side.

Jordan says a disaster for Leeds owner Radrizzani if club are relegated
No one has more invested in Leeds staying in the Premier League. Radrizzani will lose a massive amount of cash if the 49ers do choose to buy Leeds in the Championship. Perhaps, Radrizzani will stay if we do suffer relegation.
In the hope that Leeds are promoted and he can then sell for a Premier League fee, again. But, that would mean Radrizzani will have to wait. He would rather Leeds stay up, and then sell. Jordan gave his take on the situation.
“It is a disaster for Andrea. We understand that his immediate plan was to dispose of Leeds – relegation could affect that. It is a disaster for the club, they should have kicked on and looking at the upper echelons of the League.”
