Leeds United secured their 13th Championship win of the season from 22 games with an easy victory over newly-promoted Oxford United – and Rhian Brewster was among those to praise a Leeds player.

Having failed to beat Preston last time out, Daniel Farke will have been keen for his side to pick up three points against Oxford. Especially, with Leeds’ next two games coming away from home over Christmas.

A trip to Stoke on Boxing Day, followed by a second clash against Derby in December. Leeds did just that and secured a clean sheet, thanks to Dan James, Jayden Bogle, Brenden Aaronson and Manor Solomon.

All four got their name on the score sheet in what was a comprehensive win for The Whites, who stay in second place going into Christmas. Sheffield United’s 2-0 win at Cardiff City sees them remain three clear.

Jayden Bogle posts on Instagram after scoring third Leeds goal

Bogle popped up with his third for Leeds since swapping the Blades for Elland Road when he lashed home from close range, after a neat one-two with United States ace Aaronson in the Oxford penalty area.

It sees Bogle already match his tally for Sheffield United last season, albeit his three goals for the Blades in 2023-24 was in the Premier League. He also has an assist, taking his tally to four goals and assists.

Bogle posted on Instagram after the win, his caption reading: “Have a great Christmas.”

Sheffield United star Rhian Brewster and Leeds players reply

There might be some question marks regarding Bogle’s defensive ability and certainly, that is an area that requires improvement should Leeds get promoted to the Premier League. But in attack, he is excellent.

Plenty responded to Bogle’s post on Instagram. Junior Firpo, his colleague on the left-hand side, labelled Bogle a “goal machine” while Largie Ramazani and Joel Piroe also commented on his post last night.

As did Sheffield United striker Rhian Brewster, his former teammate at Bramall Lane. Clearly, the duo are still pals despite Bogle’s decision to join Sheffield United’s local rivals, and this season, promotion rivals.
