Leeds United will be desperate to keep Joe Rodon permanently. His form on loan from Tottenham has been superb – and now, Everton can help Leeds keep Rodon, by selling defender Ben Godfrey.
Rodon, 26, joined Leeds on loan from Spurs in the summer – largely helped by the presence of Wales teammates Ethan Ampadu and Dan James. Also, with Gretar Steinsson joining Leeds from Tottenham.
The Wales defender has played 12 times for Leeds, proving to be a crucial part of Daniel Farke’s Leeds side. Five clean sheets in that time, winning seven times and conceding only eight goals when playing.
Leeds will be keen to keep Rodon and while promotion to the Premier League may be required to secure such a deal, the Whites will need Spurs to be willing to sell him, too. Spurs are lacking in centre-backs.
That has been proven by Cristian Romero’s red card and then, Micky van de Ven’s injury on Monday, against Chelsea. Rodon’s form could tempt Spurs to keep him next summer – possibly, recall him.

But Spurs may go out and sign a centre-back, instead. 90Min claim Spurs are keen on raiding Everton to sign £20m Godfrey. The latter has only played one minute of Premier League football this season.
Spurs want the ex-Norwich man and given he is not a regular in Sean Dyche’s side, Everton could be open to a sale. He may want to move, in order to get more game time. It would ease Spurs concerns.
If Everton sanction a move for Godfrey to Spurs, then it lessens the need for Rodon at Spurs and that then would surely see Spurs prove willing to sell Rodon – improving our chances of keeping him.
