Sam Allardyce has admitted he would be prepared to have an interview for a job vacancy that would see him manage three Leeds United players, as he searches for his next job after leaving Leeds.
Allardyce’s last job came at Elland Road, taking over Leeds for the last four games of the Premier League season but proving powerless to keep The Whites in the top tier and steer them clear of relegation.
Leeds suffered defeats to Man City, West Ham and Tottenham while drawing against Newcastle in a game that saw Patrick Bamford miss a penalty. Leeds have since been in the second tier of English football.
Allardyce meanwhile, has been out of work since. It has seen him miss an entire season of football but he remains keen to stay in the game and he was asked about taking up a new vacancy after a recent sacking.
Wales have decided to move on without manager Rob Page after a 4-0 hammering by Slovakia, a game in which Ethan Ampadu was made captain – not long after Dan James missed a penalty to go to Euro 2024.

Sam Allardyce open to staging Wales interview as next manager
Wales of course have Ampadu and James as well as Leeds teenager Charlie Crew. Joe Rodon and Connor Roberts are no longer Leeds players having returned to parent clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley.
Becoming Wales boss would see Allardyce go into international football for a second time, managing England for one game. He told the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast he would be open to an interview.
“I‘ve had quite a few Welsh coaches. You never know if you get on the shortlist for an interview. I‘d always take an interview, I wouldn’t turn an interview down. A team that’s done brilliantly over the last few years.”

Who are the favourites to take over as Wales manager
Osian Roberts has just got Como promoted to Serie A and he’s the favourite to take over, while Craig Bellamy is in the running. Nathan Jones, a return for Chris Coleman and Rob Edwards are also linked.
Wales are not likely to be in any rush to make a decision and could wait until after Euro 2024 to see if there are any new managers available moving forward, with Wales next in action in September.
Whether Allardyce has been mentioned by those making the decision on who to replace Page remains to be seen, but it would see him take charge of Ampadu, James and Crew if he does get offered the role.
