Fabrizio Romano has told Caught Offside that Leeds United have been hugely impressed by the impact Tyler Adams has had in the dressing room amid speculation that the midfielder is now a wanted man.

Adams is soon returning to Leeds off the back of an amazing showing at the World Cup. The 23-year-old was named as captain for the USMNT ahead of the tournament.

And he vindicated that decision in some style. The midfielder was absolutely outstanding for the US as they made it to the last 16 in Qatar.

Romano provides update on Tyler Adams

Unsurprisingly, his performances did not go unnoticed. Recent reports from Gazzetta dello Sport claimed that Inter Milan want Adams, particularly after his displays at the World Cup.

We, of course, lost our two star players during the last summer window. And with that, many fans will be realistic about the chances of keeping those who really stand out for Jesse Marsch’s men in the years to come.

Romano has suggested that there have been no discussions between Leeds and the Nerazzurri over Adams. But the Whites are determined to keep him for as long as possible.

“Inter Milan are not in talks to sign Tyler Adams as things stand,” he told Caught Offside.

“I’m sure Leeds will try to keep him, they love Tyler as a player but also I’m told they love his attitude in the dressing room.

“It always depends on the proposals, we will see; too early to say. But I think he’s a very good player with a top future.”

Orta needs to prepare himself for future interest

Leeds are certainly going to get an idea of just how important Adams is to the side in the first couple of games after the World Cup break.

Perhaps he would have missed the clash with Manchester City anyway due to the World Cup. But his red card against Tottenham – how long ago does that feel by the way? – means that he is suspended anyway.

Leeds missed Adams tremendously against Fulham in October. And we now face the champions without him.

It is hard to see the Whites entertaining the idea of selling Adams in January – regardless of any offer put on the table.

But certainly, Victor Orta needs to get on with scouting midfielders for a future window.

We need more depth in that area of the pitch. And, if Adams picks up where he left off when the season resumes, it may not be too long before Leeds are fielding some serious offers for the youngster.
