BBC pundit Jon Newsome believes Leeds United have two players who find the Championship too easy at times.

Leeds ended their three-match losing run on the road with an emphatic 3-0 win at Cardiff City, the third win by this scoreline in a row across all competitions.

Patrick Bamford, Dan James and Georginio Rutter were all on the scoresheet for Leeds, with the former again coming in for praise as he continued his impressive run of form since returning to the side.

But speaking on BBC Radio Leeds after the game, Newsome has also hailed the displays of both Joe Rodon and Ethan Ampadu, who started alongside each other at centre-back for the second time.

He believes that both players find the Championship ‘too easy’ at times, labelling them both as ‘Rolls-Royces’ after another accomplished display in defence together.

Newsome hails Rodon and Ampadu

“Good habits. The two centre-backs Rodon and Ampadu are like two Rolls-Royces at this level, the game is a little too easy for them at times.”

That is now three clean sheets in a row for Leeds, two of which have come with these two together at centre-back. Their chemistry from playing together for Wales is clear to see.

Leeds were without both Pascal Struijk and Liam Cooper this afternoon and despite the former’s superb season, it is arguably fair to say they weren’t overly missed.

Cardiff had one very timid shot on target across the whole 90 minutes and that is largely in part due to both Rodon and Ampadu being able to snuff out the danger very quickly.

Farke will certainly have a decision to make once Struijk returns from injury, as Ilia Gruev has also been hugely impressive in midfield, and it will take a big call to leave him out of the team.
