Phil Hay has reported on The Athletic that Leeds United man Robin Koch is set to complete a loan to Frankfurt, with a medical currently ongoing – and it is a move that will see him team up with Brenden Aaronson‘s younger brother.
Koch, 26, pretty much ends a three-year stint at Elland Road, with this move. While he has a year left on his deal, the Germany international will go on loan for a year before finding himself as a free agent. Frankfurt will pay a fee.
A loan fee, though. It will be a smaller fee than Leeds might have hoped for in selling him permanently, but a fee none the less – as per Hay’s report. He joins a Frankfurt side that finished seventh last term, in the Bundesliga.
They have qualified for the Europa Conference League, meaning Koch will go from potential Championship football, to playing in Europe. He will do so, alongside Aaronson’s younger brother – Paxten, with the Bundesliga outfit.

Brendan’s younger brother moved to Frankfurt in January, from Philadelphia Union – having scored four goals in 41 games for the MLS side. Paxten’s transfer cost Frankfurt around £3m. Koch is set to link up with the midfielder.
Much like Brenden’s career, he broke through at the Union in American soccer before travelling to Europe. For our Aaronson, it was a move to Salzburg – but under an American manager, one that Leeds fans know all too well about.
For Paxten, he is still looking to make an impact in Germany after just eight outings during the second half of last season – laying on an assist. It is likely he will get game time in the Conference League. Koch, surely, a starter.
