Sunday afternoon was brilliant. Not only did England win, but we saw the entire England fanbase finally realise what we have been banging on about for the entire season. Kalvin Phillips is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. Now, Rio Ferdinand has delivered a worrying three-word Tweet on the future of Leeds ace Phillips.

The Leeds ace was man of the match for many as he stroked a beautiful pass into Raheem Sterling to score. But he didn’t just get an assist. Indeed, he was everywhere. A slightly different role to the one the one he performs for Marcelo Bielsa. Jose Mourinho had predicted Phillips would start.

His transitional play, his running between the lines, his successful passes – it accumulated into a brilliant performance. But inevitably, Phillips is already being discussed as a possible departure from Leeds this summer if he keeps shining at Euro 2020. A bizarre report claimed Real Madrid are keen.

What has Ferdinand said about Leeds and England ace Phillips?

Last summer, The Mirror said Tottenham and Liverpool were keeping tabs on the £50million-rated midfielder. Now, asked whether his performances could catch the eye of better clubs this summer, ex-Leeds defender Ferdinand responded with a worrying three-word message.

Of course, Ferdinand himself left Leeds to join Manchester United for what was then, a British record fee.
