Dutch outlet Soccernews claim Swansea City are battling Coventry City to sign Roda JC striker Dylan Vente as a possible replacement for Joel Piroe – who is, attracting interest from Leeds, Everton, Forest and other English sides.
Piroe, 23, has thrown himself onto the radar of a number of big English clubs after another excellent season in the Championship. The Dutch striker has now scored 41 goals across two seasons in the Championship with Swansea.
Last season, he netted 20 goals in 43 games. Phil Hay says Leeds are interested in Piroe. Wales Online claim that Forest and Southampton want him, while Daily Star reporter Paul Brown says Piroe is keen on a move to Everton.
The Mail, meanwhile, say he is rated at a fee of £12m. Now, a further update. It is clear that Swansea are planning for life without Piroe, by lining up a replacement in the form of Vente – who starred in the Eredvisie last season.
Initially joining Roda from Arne Slot’s Feyenoord on loan in January 2021, Vente has since starred for Roda. Playing 98 times for the Dutch club, he has scored 51 goals – laying on 16 assists. Last season, he scored 21 goals in 38.

Swansea are clearly aware that they are going to lose Piroe – and in place of the Dutchman, they are going to try and work the same magic. They are set to go back to the Eredivisie, for one of the league’s most-impressive strikers.
Vente boasts some serious stats, especially in a Roda side that are some way off the top clubs in the Eredivisie – so, his form is all the more impressive. But clearly, Swansea expect to sell Piroe and that is a positive sign for Leeds.
