Aston Villa are interested in Tyler Adams with the midfielder expected to leave Leeds United in the summer transfer window.

That is according to a report from The Athletic, which notes that Tyler Adams may be an outside name to keep an eye on as Aston Villa prepare for playing in Europe next year.

Leeds fans are probably braced for Adams to be one of the first names out of the door this summer. While it was a truly miserable campaign at Elland Road, the USMNT international proved to be an inspired signing.

And it is probably not too big a claim to suggest that Leeds may have actually kept themselves in the Premier League had Adams not missed the final 12 games.

In that time, the Whites took only eight points and conceded a staggering 36 goals. And they were largely a shambles in the middle of the park.

Adams would not have addressed all of Leeds’ problems. But the team had a much better balance when he was available. So it is little surprise that he is attracting attention.

The Athletic names Adams as an outside name to watch for Aston Villa fans to watch this summer. It is noted that he is one of the players they have on their radar.

If Leeds fans could hold onto one player for this coming season, it may well be Adams. He has the talent to be a ‘special‘ player. And he is clearly a leader in the dressing room.

But it is going to be incredibly difficult if teams such as Aston Villa come calling. The Villans are progressing at a rapid rate under Unai Emery. And they will be in the Europa Conference League next year.

It appears that he may not be a top target at this stage. But it is certainly going to be a long summer if we are going to do all we can to keep Adams at Elland Road.
