Sun reporter Alan Nixon has claimed on his Patreon channel that Southampton and Jon Dahl Tomasson’s Blackburn are also interested in Manchester City gem Kian Breckin – a player recently been linked with a move to Leeds United.
Yet to break his way into City’s senior side, 19-year-old Breckin has starred in Premier League 2 for City. Clocking up 31 second-string outings for City’s Under-21’s, Breckin has had a hand in 12 goals from midfield – scoring eight.
The Mail say Leeds and Newcastle have shown interest in Breckin, who is the son of ex-Wigan and Forest defender Ian Breckin. But with his contract lasting until June 2027, a loan spell away from The Etihad looks much more likely.

That possibly rules Newcastle out of a move, with Leeds, Southampton and Blackburn all now in the running to land the talented midfielder. Leeds certainly need additions in the middle of the park, before facing Cardiff on August 6.
Southampton and Blackburn want Breckin; recently linked with Leeds
Leeds lack midfielders. Both holding, and in more attacking positions. Brenden Aaronson, Tyler Adams and Marc Roca are all being linked with the exit door. Adam Forshaw will be out of contract on June 30, but will be in training.

The retained list confirmed he has not yet been offered a new deal but talks are ongoing. Weston McKennie has of course, returned to Juventus – where a further move is expected. Leeds are likely to look at the loan market.
Bringing in a talented gem such as Breckin could be the answer, to add depth in a position Leeds need it the most. The Whites are likely to use Archie Gray and Darko Gyabi, but landing Breckin gives Leeds another needed option.
