Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo claim Leeds United and Real Betis are set for Monday talks to thrash out a loan-to-buy deal for midfielder Marc Roca – with the Spanish lefty said to be desperate to join the La Liga side this summer.
Roca, 26, is one of a number of players likely to leave Leeds in the coming weeks and months. Having joined Leeds last summer from Bayern Munich, his season has been up and down. But, ultimately, nowhere near the initial hype.
Struggling to complete 90 minutes saw him often subbed by Jesse Marsch. He was dropped now and then, even if Tyler Adams had to undergo hamstring surgery. He ended the season with 36 games for Leeds, but he needs to go.
He has not done enough to retain his place and if offers come in for Roca, they should be listened to. Clubs in his home country are more than likely to take a look. Betis want to bring him home ahead of a Europa League campaign.
The report from ED claims that Roca is very interested in a move that would see him initially join Manuel Pellegrini’s side on loan, with a view to making the deal a permanent one. Talks between the clubs will take place on Monday.

Roca wants to go, he has not been good enough for Leeds and Betis want him. It should be a deal that is easily organised in the coming days. What Leeds must do, is make sure Betis are paying all of his £50k-a-week wages.
If he is going to go on loan, then it is a move that is not going to see Leeds rake in the cash. But, in terms of the club’s financial stability following relegation, getting his wages off the block is key. Then, a £10m permanent clause?
