Fulham have made contact with Leeds United over a potential loan move for Brenden Aaronson.

That is according to a report from the Daily Mail, which suggests that the Cottagers have not met the conditions that would allow the American to join Marco Silva’s ranks.

Brenden Aaronson is one member of the Leeds squad fans would probably not mind seeing move on this summer. Unfortunately, the 22-year-old proved to be a really underwhelming signing after a brilliant start to life at Elland Road.

The Daily Mail reports that Aaronson has a clause in his contract which will allow him to leave on loan this summer. And Silva wants to take him to Craven Cottage.

Fulham make loan approach for Brenden Aaronson

It would appear that Fulham have failed with an initial approach, with the Daily Mail reporting that they have not met the conditions required to secure the £25 million player’s signature.

Of course, Fulham are no strangers to signing Leeds players on loan. Daniel James spent last year with the club. So perhaps Aaronson will now follow in his footsteps.

Much will depend on what future Leeds envisage for Aaronson. It is probably fair to say that plenty of fans would happily see the club cut their losses and cash in on the USMNT international this summer.

Others however, probably see a year in the Championship as potentially the ideal platform for Aaronson. He does have talent and potential. But Premier League defenders seemed to work him out quite easily.

And there may be a final camp who think a loan move to a Premier League side could work out well. Obviously, it is not good news in the short-term. But it would allow Aaronson to continue his development at the highest level while not making mistakes in a Leeds shirt.

That would be beneficial if Leeds seal promotion at the first attempt. Or it may build his value back up ahead of the summer.

So it will be interesting to see if Fulham return with a fresh offer.
