MLS reporter Tom Bogert claims Leeds United outcast Mateusz Bogusz is in advanced talks to join MLS champions LAFC despite currently being out on loan at second-tier Spanish side UD Ibiza. His Leeds deal ends in the summer.
Bogusz, 21, joined Leeds back in January 2019 and has now been on the books at Elland Road for four years. But he has managed just three games at senior level, preferring to go out on loan on to different clubs instead of staying.
A loan to Logrones for the 2020-21 season saw him play 24 times, but it ended as a bit of a flop. He managed just two goal involvements. For 21-22, he joined Ibiza. He made an excellent start, 11 goals and assists in 22 games.
But then, he ruptured an anterior cruciate ligament. Returning to Leeds, he underwent rehab to get him back on the pitch and rejoined Ibiza for the 22-23 season. This time around, just two goals in 24 – failing to register any assists.
So, the chances of Bogusz extending his stay at Elland Road are nil. He is playing for his future and now it appears he is heading to Los Angeles to play alongside Giorgio Chiellini. Bogert says LAFC are in advanced talks for Bogusz.

LAFC of course, are the team that Gareth Bale joined – helping them win the 2022 MLS title. They also boast ex-Arsenal star Carlos Vela, Gabonese winger Denis Bouanga and Jose Cifuentes – who has been linked with Leeds.
It is a stunning move. Of course, not the only Polish midfielder to go from Leeds to America. The fact that Mateusz Klich – a regular for Leeds – has joined mid-table DC United, shows how good a move to LAFC is for talent Bogusz.
