Joe Gelhardt got a telling off from Jesse Marsch during Leeds United’s latest training session for not being ready to move during one particular drill, according to a report from Leeds Live.
Leeds continue to work while away in Spain ahead of the resumption of the Premier League. For players such as Gelhardt, it is a fantastic opportunity to catch the eye.

The Whites are without Patrick Bamford due to injury. Meanwhile, Brenden Aaronson has been away at the World Cup. So for someone like Gelhardt, it seems imperative that he impresses.
Marsch frustrated with Gelhardt
Gelhardt had a frustrating first-half of the campaign. For much of his time at Elland Road, he has been the prospect most fans have been most excited about. However, the likes of Crysensio Summerville, Sam Greenwood and Willy Gnonto have stood out more so far this season.

What may not help Gelhardt’s cause is not necessarily doing what the manager wants. But according to Leeds Live, he received a volley from Marsch for not being ready to move. It is noted that he was in the number 10 role in a playing-out-from-the-back drill.
Of course, Marsch shouting at Gelhardt is hardly significant. Now is the time for Leeds to get into the really fine details on the training ground.
But we are absolutely desperate to see Gelhardt get his development back on track. It was little more than 12 months ago that he was single-handedly dragging us towards earning a point against Wolves.
And his first-half display away at Tottenham last season was absolutely outstanding. It seemed to be a breakout performance. He appears to have the kind of natural talent that most in the squad could only dream of.
But perhaps Marsch getting frustrated with him on the training ground does highlight that something is not quite clicking right now.
