Sports Walla claim Leeds United are keen on a move to sign Maccabi Tel Aviv striker Djordje Jovanovic, from Robbie Keane’s new side. Having spent the last four games at Leeds, Keane has now embarked on his first managerial job.

Keane has taken over at Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he finds Serbia international Jovanovic, 24. The striker netted an impressive 22 goals in 43 goals last season, earning three Serbia caps due to his impressive 22-23 term.

Unsurprisingly, there is interest in the striker. Keane will do well to keep hold of the forward, especially with Leeds now interested in his forward. The report simply states that Leeds are looking – without making a move as of yet.

But the report does state that Tel Aviv are keen to offload Jovanovic, in order to promote teen star Dor Turgeman. Keane would still be keeping a hold of his star striker, in Eren Zahavi – a veteran at 35, but scored 26 goals last term.

Leeds could be in the market for a new striker. Rodrigo is more than likely to go – with strong links to both Spain and Saudi Arabia. Patrick Bamford could be tempted to go after a fraught 22-23 season, where he was heavily criticised.

Georginio Rutter has been linked with an exit – though Phil Hay has reiterated that the noises are the Frenchman will remain at Elland Road. Joe Gelhardt has returned after a loan at Sunderland, but even he finds his future uncertain.

He will need assurances he is first choice. So, on the face of it, Leeds have a number of strikers available. But, it will depend on how many the club decide to keep. If they wave goodbye to one or two, then Jovanovic could come in.
