The Telegraph say some Leeds United players are helping to integrate Georginio Rutter behind the scenes by talking to the attacker in French – with the club-record signing struggling to learn English, following his January arrival.
Rutter, 21, has endured a difficult start to life at Elland Road. Joining the club from Hoffenheim for a record £35m deal, Rutter has managed just 12 outings for Leeds – only three of which are starts, just one in the Premier League.
That start came at Chelsea in the 1-0 loss in London. Rutter has not played for Leeds in the League since coming on in the defeat to Liverpool – warming the bench for the last six league games. Sam Allardyce is yet to bring him on.
Whether or not he gets a start this weekend with Patrick Bamford injured, and Rodrigo playing through the pain barrier to finish the game at West Ham – remains to be seen. But Rutter is clearly finding it hard to adapt at Leeds.

His game time is proof of that – but the Telegraph say it is more than just his minutes on the pitch. Indeed, they say Rutter is struggling to learn English after four months in the country – and some players are talking to him in French.

What next for Rutter? With relegation now likely, Rutter is not going to get any interest in his services given he has only just joined Leeds – at least, on a permanent basis. But, it might be that Leeds allow him to go out on loan.
A loan, possibly back to his home country, without an option. A chance to give Rutter to learn English, and restore his confidence – which will have been shattered since joining Leeds. Maybe, Leeds decide to keep him this summer.
