Spanish newspaper SPORT claim Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca has received offers from the Bundesliga this summer but is expected to reject those in favour of a return to his home country Spain – with Real Betis ‘favourites’.
Roca, 26, is expected to leave Leeds just a year after the Whites bought him for a fee of £10m from Bayern Munich. The left-footer impressed on occasion, but his form tailed off after the sacking of Jesse Marsch, losing Tyler Adams.
The ex-Espanyol man struggled to keep up the intensity and quality of his performances for 90 minutes in England. So much so, that he was often substituted by Marsch. With Adams injured, he was forced to remain on the pitch.
That saw his form and fitness decline. Clearly, English football does not suit Roca. Betis have been strongly linked to bring Roca back to La Liga, a loan-to-buy deal in place. The new report explains this, saying Betis are favourites.
But the report also says that actually, Betis are not alone. Links with another Spanish side in Girona, while German clubs have been looking at a move to bring him back to the Bundesliga. But Roca will reject that interest for Spain.

Roca is one of a number of Leeds players that has not been good enough since moving to Elland Road, but will still be expected to go. Junior Firpo, Robin Koch, maybe Rasmus Kristensen and potentially even Georginio Rutter.
Phil Hay spoke to the Square Ball this week and he said that of all of the rumours, the only genuine interest shown in Leeds players includes Roca to Betis, and Tyler Roberts to Birmingham City. This is one we can expect to take place.
