Polish outlet TVP Sport claim Mateusz Klich will not be included in Poland’s 26-man World Cup squad to go to Qatar this month as he continues to struggle for game time at Leeds United. Poland will announce their squad on Thursday.
Klich, 32, is a 41-time Poland international. He was part of the Poland squad that reached Euro 2020. He started all three group games before Poland were knocked out. But that was the only major tournament he has been picked for.
At the start of the season, Marsch hinted that Klich could leave Leeds in order to strengthen his chances of winning a place in Poland’s squad. But he was convinced to stay at Elland Road – and made a decent start, albeit from the bench.
An impressive cameo role against Wolves, a brace against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup. But in the last two games, he has remained an unused sub. Klich has failed to play more than 15 minutes in the Premier League since September 3.

Now, TVP Sport report that his lack of game time, a ‘problem’ they describe it under Marsch, will see him miss out on Poland’s World Cup squad – which is to be announced on Thursday. They say any hope of making it, is ‘dying’.

Klich will not be in Poland’s squad as he struggles for Leeds game time
A real blow for Klich. He will feel he should have left in the summer, in order to strengthen his chances of making the squad. The squad is likely to have already been picked. Even though Klich may be in line for a start against Wolves.
Whether Klich can make a last-minute push and shine against Wolves tonight in the Carabao Cup, to force his way into the squad remains to be seen. But Poland boss Czesław Michniewicz will likely have his squad picked and ready to go.
