The Record claim Leeds United are locked in a transfer battle with both Rangers and Newcastle for youngster Filip Skorb – with the teenager already spending time at Elland Road on trial, before going north of the border to Ibrox.
The wonderkid has already spent time at Leeds on a temporary basis which the Record say was a “successful” stint. He has been invited to train with Newcastle in the coming months, and is set to play for Rangers in a tournament.
Indeed, Skorb – who currently plays for Edinburgh-based Portobello Thistle – will don the Light Blues shirt at the end of the week as Rangers prepare to take on Manchester United in a tournament. Scouts are likely to be aplenty.
Skorb will turn out for the Gers, as he continues to mull over a decision on which club to join. Described as a free-scoring striker by the Record, he is renowned for his speed and stamina – partaking in cross country running.

There is little knowledge in regards to Skorb. But, clearly, Leeds are not alone in looking to nab an exciting talent in the striker ahead of the curve – with Newcastle and Rangers keeping tabs. His decision will be an intriguing one.
Of course, coming from Scotland, a move to Rangers might make most sense. The pathway into the first team will not face as many obstacles as it will at a Leeds or Newcastle. Leeds have just signed Georgie Rutter for £35million.
A club-record transfer. A move that also forced Joe Gelhardt out on loan and while Mateo Joseph is racking the goals up for the U21’s, he is rarely getting a go. There are doubts over the futures of Rodrigo and Patrick Bamford.
Rodrigo’s deal ends in 2024 and it remains to be seen if the Spaniard will be given an extension. Bamford is back fit and scored against Brighton, but the England man’s injuries over the past 18 months have hampered him.
