FLW claim Leeds United scouts have been watching FC Midtjylland striker Sory Kaba during the 2022-23 season while he was on loan at Cardiff City where he impressed having joined in January – scoring eight goals in 17 games.
Kaba, 28, joined Cardiff on loan from Danish side Midtjylland in January and instantly had an impact. Indeed, his goals in the second half of the season helped Cardiff – who faced Leeds twice – survive, finishing in 21st place.
He scored five goals in his last seven Championship games, shining for Cardiff. A 21-time Guinea international, he is due to return to Midtjylland now – with Cardiff unable to sign him permanently. It is unclear how much he will cost.
But it is hardly going to cost a fortune. Bought for £2.6m by Midtjylland, he is in the final year of his contract with the Danish side. FLW say Leeds have been scouting the African forward, ahead of a potential summer transfer.

Leeds may need a striker. Rodrigo is more than likely to go this summer. Like Kaba, he is in the final year of his deal. Patrick Bamford may go, given the run in he had with Leeds fans in the final few games of the 2022-23 campaign.
So, without Bamford and Rodrigo, Leeds are left with Georginio Rutter and Joe Gelhardt. Rutter is yet to shine but the belief is relegation to the second tier might get the best out of him. Gelhardt struggled on loan at Sunderland.
Leeds could do with another striker then, if two or three leave. Gelhardt may need to go out on loan again. So, a move for Kaba may make sense. Is he the one that Leeds will appease fans? Probably not, but he did impress.
