Report: Leeds considering 46-year-old as well as Parker and Farke in manager search

Patrick Vieira is one of the contenders Leeds United are considering as they continue their pursuit of a new manager.

That is according to a report from the Daily Mail, which suggests that Daniel Farke and Scott Parker are also in contention for the post.

The new season may be less than two months away, but Leeds remain without a manager after confirming the departure of Sam Allardyce in the wake of the club’s relegation.

A number of names have been linked with the post. And the Daily Mail is now suggesting that Patrick Vieira remains in the frame.

It is noted that Leeds would ideally like a manager with Premier League and Championship experience. They would also like to avoid having to pay any compensation.

Vieira is yet to work in England’s second tier. But he most definitely has Premier League experience. And he is available without compensation after leaving Crystal Palace last season.

Vieira would be an interesting choice for Leeds. He is definitely a big name. And he has worked as a head coach for around a decade, with most of that time spent working in senior football.

He arguably did a decent job with Crystal Palace. And he can probably feel a little hard done-by to get sacked after a tough run of games.

You would imagine that that is unlikely to be the last we see of Vieira in the Premier League. So perhaps Leeds will be the ones to offer him the chance to get back to that level.
