Football website 90Min claim Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur were among a handful of clubs to send scouts to Austria to watch RedBull Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko score a hat-trick for his side in a 4-2 win over Rapid Vienna.
Sesko, 19, has been dubbed the ‘next Haaland’ with some of his performances for Salzburg. Still only 19, the forward already has 17 caps for Slovenia. Having joined Salzburg in the summer of 2019, he has since scored 22 goals.
Despite his tender age, Sesko is scoring goals at a regular rate and has 11 this season. Needless to say, some of the biggest clubs in Europe are keeping an eye on him. Leeds and Tottenham sent scouts to watch him on the weekend.
But they were not alone. Scouts from Manchester United, Wolves, West Ham and Inter Milan were also in attendance to watch Sesko put Rapid to the sword – netting three times. Last summer, he was rated at a figure worth £55million.

Leeds and Tottenham send scouts to watch Benjamin Sesko score hat-trick
What a talent this lad is. Standing at a lofty 6ft 4in, he is clearly rather impressive in the air. But he also has that speed, work rate and technical ability that makes him an ideal all-round striker. Leeds spent £35million on Georginio Rutter.
So, the chances of Leeds actually moving for Sesko seems unlikely – unless the Whites decide to cash in on Patrick Bamford or Rodrigo in the summer. Again, unlikely. The only chance Leeds have is if we stay in the Premier League.
But given the size of the clubs also interested, his price tag and the fact Leeds are well-stocked in the final third, it seems unlikely that Leeds will be making an offer to sign Sesko. However, there is no denying he is a massive talent.
