Report: Leeds and Tottenham want Euro 2020 sensation, £25.5m needed

Italian outlet Il Bianconero – as per La Repubblica – claim that Leeds and Tottenham want Denmark’s Euro 2020 sensation Mikkel Damsgaard. The Sampdoria playmaker has been excellent for club and country over the past 12 months. Now, Leeds and Spurs want to bring him to England.

Damsgaard, still only 21, was excellent for Sampdoria during 2020-21. He clocked up 35 appearances – having a hand in six goals for the Serie A side. But it was his form this summer, at Euro 2020, in which Damsgaard caught the eye. England fans will certainly know his name, after his free-kick.

How much will Leeds and Tottenham need to spend to sign Damsgaard?

It was one of two goals he scored at Euro 2020, slamming home a free kick from the best part of 25 yards against Kalvin Phillips and co. Now, Leeds are keen on signing Damsgaard – but they are not alone in their pursuit. Tottenham are also said to want the Serie A wonderkid this summer.

Damsgaard is rated by Sampdoria at a whopping £25.5million – according to the report. It would make him the second most-expensive signing in the history of Leeds – only just behind Rodrigo. Whether he would start for Leeds, or Tottenham, remains to be seen. A top, top talent, nevertheless.
