Leeds Live report that Javi Gracia intriguingly made Marc Roca move further forward in the Leeds United dugout on Saturday at Stamford Bridge during the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea – in order to share his wisdom with Roca throughout.

Roca, 26, was one of three players dropped from the 2-0 defeat to Fulham – along with Rasmus Kristensen and Willy Gnonto. Jack Harrison, Max Wober and Brenden Aaronson came into the side but ultimately, Leeds did not do enough.

It was perhaps a surprise not to see Roca throughout the entire match. It was the first League game that Roca missed, that he was available to play in. He has missed three others, through injury. He was an unused sub in West London.

But, Gracia used the game to pass on instruction. Initially taking a seat further back in the dugout, Gracia asked Roca to move forward alongside the coaches and throughout the game, was seen giving the £10m signing insight during.

Tyler Adams and McKennie enjoyed a better outing than they did against Fulham on Tuesday night. It is fair to say that Adams, who has been one of our best players this season, endured his worst night in a Leeds shirt in the FA Cup exit.

McKennie continues to grow every time he plays for Leeds. The duo’s display did really give Leeds a foothold in the match. But, it was another chapter in the unwanted story of this Leeds season – positives, chances, but ending in a loss.

With Brighton next, Roca will be keen to show Gracia in training this week that he deserves to come into the side come Saturday. The Seagulls will be a tough test, with Leeds struggling against Brighton since promotion to the top tier.
