Colombian outlet El Deportivo claim that Bayer Leverkusen could strike a loan deal to sign Luis Sinisterra from Leeds United this summer – with Leeds open to the idea of loaning out big-wage players in the hope of instant promotion.
Sinisterra, 23, endured a season of both highs and lows. Three large injuries limited the Colombia winger to just 22 outings. The first of which came in pre-season in Australia against Palace. The last one against Leicester at home.
However, he did still manage to score seven goals from out wide – an impressive tally in a side struggling at the end of the table. Sinisterra now has a decision to make. Does he leave, does he stay, or – a mix of both, and go on loan.
Leverkusen apparently were interested in Sinisterra before his move to Leeds, according to the report. It is claimed that Leeds are open to the idea of the players on big wages going out on loan for a year and returning next summer.

This would see Leeds keep their best players, potentially gain promotion and then either sell them for what is still a decent fee – or, keep them in the Premier League. It would of course, see his £70,000-a-week wage covered.
That wage will have been slashed in the event of relegation, but it is one that Leeds will still feel is high in regards to Championship football. A loan may have to include some form of permanent clause – but Leverkusen could move.
It is a shame though, that Sinisterra may depart so soon after joining Leeds. You would imagine that if he and maybe Tyler Adams could have remained fit for the entire season – then survival may have been obtained. One to watch.
