Italian reporter Alfredo Pedulla claims on his website that ‘in recent days’, Aston Villa have opened talks and asked for information on Leeds star Willy Gnonto – while Everton and Freiburg continue to discuss a move for the Italian.
Gnonto, 19, only joined Leeds last summer but following relegation, the Italy star is expected to leave this summer. He was not present on Monday as some of the squad returned to testing, with internationals given more time off.
Plenty of clubs have been linked with Gnonto this summer, already. Premier League clubs, Serie A sides. So, Leeds will be fielding plenty of phone calls in the next few weeks for the Italy star – and Pedulla has delivered an update.
The reporter says Everton made their move three weeks ago and are continuing to pursue a move. He says Gnonto will go, with Leeds requesting £21.5m. In recent days, he says Aston Villa and Freiburg have asked for information.

Gnonto is clearly going to leave Leeds. But he has a big decision to make. Does he stay in England, or go back to Italy. For Leeds and The 49ers, a bigger fee should be expected if he remains in English football this summer.
But of course, we run the risk of playing against Gnonto in the near future. A move to Serie A would see him return home, but Leeds may get a slightly smaller fee. A move to Freiburg would be decent, but might not appeal to him.
Even with Europa League qualification. Everton should be avoided at all costs. Gnonto will not want to run the risk of being in another relegation scrap. But a move to Villa, who lack width and have Europe, would be a superb move.
