Feyenoord manager Arne Slot has been on the phone for more than an hour with Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville in a bid to convince him to swap Yorkshire for his old club – a few months after Slot rejected Leeds.

Summerville, 21, clocked up 31 of his 40 outings during 2022-23 – but a large portion of those games came from the bench. If he stays at Elland Road, he is much more likely to be first choice for the Whites, with others leaving.

FC Update said last week that Aston Villa, RB Leipzig and PSV Eindhoven want Summerville. But not it is claimed by Dutch outlet 1908.nl that Slot is trying to raid the club he came close to joining following the exit of Jesse Marsch.

Indeed, Slot has been on the phone to Summerville for more than an hour in order to convince the Netherlands U21 man over a move back to his old club. The report states that Leeds want a fee in the region of £10.3m fee for him.

Slot in bid to convince Summerville to swap Leeds for Feyenoord

Leeds should be desperate to keep Summerville. A player that also has interest in his services from Dortmund. So, what does Summerville do this summer? Does he stick with Leeds? Or does he go – if so, which club should he join?

Well, he would be first choice if he remains. Jack Harrison, Willy Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra are all likely to go this summer. But Summerville also has interest. He should only consider an exit if he finds a club where he is a regular.

Villa? No. Dortmund? No. Leipzig? Probably not. But a move to PSV or Feyenoord would really suit Summerville. Slot has guided his side into the Champions League and Summerville would certainly be in with a chance of starting.
