San Francisco 49ers Enterprises could look to make two appointments to overhaul Leeds United’s hierarchy.
That is according to the Athletic, who claim while a like-for-like replacement for Victor Orta is still a possibility, they may instead bring in both a specific head of recruitment and head of football operations to fill the role.
This would allow whoever is brought into share the responsibilities of the day-to-day running of the club, as opposed to it being on one man’s shoulders, like it was with Orta.
A head of recruitment would, of course, be in charge of the incomings and outgoings at Leeds, while a head of football operations would ensure all aspects of the club are running at a high level.
Norwich City’s Stuart Webber is currently the man most heavily linked with one of the roles. His expertise very much lays on the recruitment side of things, based on his previous positions.

This would certainly make a lot of sense given how much Orta ended up struggling. Clearly he was unable to cope with the demands of leading everything in terms of the football side of things, which led to a number of poor decisions.
Sharing the responsibility would allow for a far more efficient running of the club, and also take some of the pressure of whoever comes in.
That said, at this stage, Leeds are very much prioritising the appointment of a new manager first and foremost, before then taking a look at the hierarchy.
Leeds are also said to be weighing up the option of hiring someone short-term, in order to buy themselves time to really find the right person/people for their long-term strategy.
Both certainly sound like viable options, but the quicker it gets sorted, the better.
