Diego Llorente is now just one step away from returning to AS Roma from Leeds United.
That is according to Corriere dello Sport, via Sport Witness, who report Llorente has pushed extremely hard to ensure the deal happens, with it now on the verge of completion.
It was reported earlier this week that Llorente has already shook hands on personal terms with Roma ahead of the two clubs reaching an agreement.
It is said that Leeds and Roma have settled on another loan deal for Llorente, though it is unclear whether it will include another option-to-buy, which was providing the stumbling block yesterday, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
Llorente spent the final six months of last season on loan at Roma after joining on deadline day in January, but the originally agreed permanent option of £18 million was deemed too high, prompting a return to the negotiating table.

Roma have pushed hard with Leeds to find a compromise on a new deal for Llorente after his impact on loan in the second half of the 2022/23 campaign.
Jose Mourinho’s side are not in a position to splash the cash at the moment but due to Llorente’s good performance levels, were keen to bring him back.
Roma have already brought in both Evan Ndicka and Houssem Aouar on free transfers, highlighting the market in which they are shopping in this summer.
The sooner Llorente is off the wage bill the better as far as Leeds are concerned, with this having been a deal that has rumbled on for some time now.
Though it may not be the permanent deal some people wanted, him being off the books should hand Leeds some wriggle room in the market.
