Leeds United will be looking to build on last week’s superb win at Leicester City when they host Plymouth Argyle on Saturday.

The victory at the King Power made it back-to-back wins for Leeds after the 1-0 defeat at Stoke City, and they will now be hopeful of heading into the international break with a win.

The gap to second place Ipswich Town has been reduced to eight points in the last week after they were held to draws at Birmingham City and Rotherham United.

As such, Leeds will be keen to continue to put the pressure on, but know it will not be an easy game against a Plymouth side who are one of the division’s most free scoring sides.

While Argyle are yet to win on the road this season, they will be happy with their start to the season after promotion. They have already scored 26 goals so far, and only the top two have more.

Prutton predicts Leeds vs Plymouth

David Prutton has given his prediction in his latest Sky Sports EFL predictions column, and thinks Leeds will have too much for a side still winless away from home.

He wrote: “Leeds were brilliant at Leicester last Friday night. It was such an intense game and they stifled their opponents superbly, taking a deserved victory. They have real hope now of clawing their way back that gap on the top two.

“Plymouth are still without a win on the road all season. This is a long trip and I can’t see that changing in truth. Home win. Leeds 3-1 Plymouth.

Plymouth definitely have the capacity to cause Leeds problems with their attack, but it is at the other end where the game could be decided.

Schumacher’s side are not usually one to sit back but have already conceded 25 goals this season, and Leeds’ front four will be licking their lips at that prospect.

Leeds cannot afford to take Plymouth for granted, though, despite their poor away form and another strong performance will needed to pick up three points.
