Ray Parlour has told TalkSPORT (Tuesday, 9:50AM) that Leeds United will finish above the relegation zone in 16th place in the Premier League table – claiming that Nottingham Forest will be relegated because of their away form.

Leeds climbed to a much safer 14th place in the Premier League table after a stunning 4-2 win over Wolves on the weekend. Goals from Jack Harrison, Luke Ayling, Rasmus Kristensen and Rodrigo proved too much for Wolves.

Gracia is guiding Leeds away from the drop zone in what is a quite incredible race to survive in the Premier League. He has watched his Leeds side pick up seven points from a possible 12 – despite facing Chelsea and Brighton.

Wins over Southampton and Wolves have given Leeds a real chance of survival at this point. Next up is Parlour’s old club Arsenal at The Emirates, which of course will be an incredibly tough test. Parlour predicted the bottom five.

I think Southampton and Bournemouth will go down, and then Nottingham Forest will go down because of their away record,” Parlour said. “Then, I think it will be Everton [in 17th place] and Leeds will finish in 16th,” Parlour said.

Ray Parlour says Leeds will finish above relegation zone in 16th place

If Leeds do finish in 16th place come the end of the season, then Gracia has done an excellent job. A job that looked bleak when Jesse Marsch watched his side lose 1-0 at Forest. They did not lay a glove on Forest in the second half.

But Gracia is turning things around. He has instilled a balance of attacking football, which was already in place, with more defensive structure. The ability to control games, and be more defensively astute. 16th, and he gets the job.

Surely, if he does keep Leeds up and safely, then the Spaniard deserves to be kept in the dugout going into the new season. We are in a great position and the feel-good factor is back. A big loss to Arsenal could easily diminish that.
