Andrea Radrizzani is a supporter of Carlos Corberan as the Leeds United chairman flies in to England to oversee the club’s search for a new manager, according to a report from the Daily Mail.

Leeds sacked Jesse Marsch on Monday after around a year in charge at Elland Road. The American has left the Whites just above the relegation zone in the Premier League. And there were serious doubts over whether he was actually taking Leeds forward.

A host of names have already been linked with the post. The Daily Mail reports that initial contact had been made with Raul. Meanwhile, there is interest in Andoni Iraola.

But it is probably fair to say that no manager has been more heavily linked than Corberan.

The West Brom boss previously worked with both the under-23s and the first-team at Leeds. And he has impressed with both Huddersfield Town and the Baggies.

The Daily Mail reports that Radrizzani is travelling to England to lead the process. And the report adds that the Italian is a fan of Corberan.

Corberan meanwhile, would be keen on the move back to Leeds. Of course, Leeds would have to agree compensation with the Baggies if they decide to make a move for the Spaniard.

Corberan seems to divide opinion amongst some of the Leeds fans. The 39-year-old is a very talented coach. And he already has that connection to the club.

But he is also unproven in the Premier League. And Leeds need someone who is going to hit the ground running almost immediately.

Obviously, anyone Leeds turn to will represent a gamble – particularly after giving Marsch the January transfer window. But Corberan represents a safer pair of hands in comparison with some of the names who have been mentioned in the frame.
