The need for a left-back remains at Leeds United with the January window in full swing and it was highlighted again on Monday with Sam Byram injured again – and Wolves could just help Leeds out.

Byram, 30, broke down once again due to injury in the 3-0 win over Birmingham City and Junior Firpo came on. A player that has himself, been suffering with injury over the last couple of years at Leeds.

The former Barcelona man impressed, laying on two assists for the Whites – goals scored by Crysencio Summerville and Dan James. But, Leeds still need a left-back. Daniel Farke has said as such, himself.

Well, wolves might have just presented Leeds with the ideal signing this month – in the form of Spain star Jonny. Still only 29, the experienced lefty is on the fringes at Wolves – and they are ready to sell.

That is according to The Telegraph, who report Wolves are open to the £15m signing’s permanent exit, after five years at Molineux. A player that has 10 goals and assists in his 107 Premier League outings.

Leeds should move as Wolves open to January sale of Jonny

A three-time Spain international. Leeds fans will remember Jonny, after he scored a stunning goal against us in our 4-2 win at Molineux last season – only to be sent off for a poor lunge on Luke Ayling.

Nevertheless, Jonny is a proven Premier League player and is still of a decent age. A player that has shown enough quality to win multiple caps with Spain, and play 221 times for Celta Vigo in Spain.

It is unclear how much he would cost, and if he would be tempted with a move to Leeds. But Leeds need a technically-gifted, attacking left-back. Jonny would be a superb signing. He is likely to leave soon.
