Nottingham Forest suffered a 1-0 defeat to Valencia on Wednesday night in Spain as Javi Guerra scored the only goal of the game – but Emmanuel Dennis was nowhere to be seen, amid reports that Leeds United want to sign him.
Dennis, 25, joined Forest last summer for a fee of £20m after having a hand in 16 goals in 37 games for Watford in the Premier League. A wonderful first campaign in England. But he struggled to replicate said form while at Forest.
Just two goals and three assists, managing only 25 outings for Forest. The Telegraph say Leeds want to sign the Nigeria star, but he also has interest in him from Saudi Arabian clubs, and Russian sides. His price tag is unclear.
Dennis was part of Forest’s side that beat Notts County on the weekend. But, having travelled to Spain to take on Valencia and then Levante on Saturday, Dennis was not involved. Indeed, reports say he has not travelled to Spain.
There have been some suggestions that it could be due to Visa issues – along with Taiwo Awoniyi. But the belief is Awoniyi will resolve those issues in time for Saturday against Levante. Dennis seems to have just been left behind.

Leeds have opened the flood gates in terms of summer signings, bringing in Ethan Ampadu from Chelsea for an initial £7m. But there is plenty more work to be done. It might be, Leeds have to wait for outgoings to begin with.
But there is no doubt that with Georginio Rutter likely to be used out wide, and Rodrigo gone, Leeds need a new striker. Dennis would be a super addition. But Leeds might have to sell a couple of players before making a move.
