West Ham United are among the sides interested in signing Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams this summer.

According to the Daily Mail, the Hammers have made an approach to Leeds over the possibility of signing the USMNT captain as they get to work on trying to replace Declan Rice.

Rice is on the verge of sealing a £105 million switch to Arsenal and West Ham are said to be targeting multiple players in order to replace their talismanic midfielder.

Adams is among those reportedly on David Moyes’ shortlist but at this stage, it appears as though their priorities lay elsewhere.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, West Ham are set to make an opening offer for Juventus’ Denis Zakaria, while they are also keen on a move for Fulham’s Joao Palhinha.

West Ham double swoop would surely end Adams interest

Adams very much excels in the ball-winning aspect of being a midfielder, which is, of course, something West Ham would need to replace when Rice officially departs.

However, with Palhinha seemingly at the top of their shortlist this summer, that would surely make a move for Adams redundant.

Despite missing the final two-and-a-half months of the season, Adams made 89 tackles last season, beaten only by Palhinha, Moises Caicedo and Idrissa Gueye.

In fact, Palhinha was miles clear of his closest rival in that regard, coming in at top spot with 147, 47 clear of Caicedo in second place.

On top of their interest in Palhinha, a deal for Zakaria appears to be the most advanced as they prepare to make a bid for the former Chelsea loanee today.

Should they manage to get both deals done, it would surely end their interest in Adams and give Leeds a better chance of keeping him.
