PL boss is particularly keen on ‘special’ 24-year-old Leeds player

Steve Cooper is particularly keen on signing Tyler Adams with Nottingham Forest including the Leeds United midfielder on their wishlist this summer.

That is according to a report from The Athletic, which notes that Forest have so far prioritised other targets in this window.

Tyler Adams is one of a number of Leeds players facing an uncertain future ahead of the final couple of weeks in the transfer window.

The USMNT international was one of the only positives for the Whites last season. When he was fit, he gave the side a real balance. And Leeds were severely punished for not having anyone who could replace him while he was injured.

Unfortunately, Adams still remains sidelined due to injury. So it seems that there is a real chance that he has already made final appearance for the club.

As noted by The Athletic, Chelsea’s move to sign Adams collapsed. Meanwhile, Bournemouth have made their own bid. However, another report from The Athletic has suggested that Adams’ release clause has now expired.

That obviously puts Leeds in a stronger position if they can afford to keep the 24-year-old. But The Athletic notes that Forest are amongst the clubs keen on a deal.

And it appears that it is Cooper driving their interest. The report claims that the Forest boss is a real fan of the former RB Leipzig man. It remains to be seen if the club now make a bid.

Leeds appear to be in a difficult position. Judging by the business already done, Daniel Farke cannot welcome any more notable signings until players leave.

So the Whites may have to consider all significant bids for Adams, Willy Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra. However, there is no question that any of the trio have the quality to be standout performers in the Championship.

Adams is a ‘special‘ player. And Leeds have very little depth in the middle of the park while he is injured.

Ultimately, Leeds need to hold onto those who actually want to stay and fight for the club. If Adams is one of those, it would be a real boost if he remained at Elland Road beyond the deadline.
